Fixing Kit



Is the AC-ASP-KR3W the same as the keypad KP-KR3?
They are very similar in looks but the AC-ASP-KR3W will only work with our AC-ASP8000 PC Based Access Control System or another system that require weigand data output. The KP-KR3 is a standalone Keypad meaning you manage it from the keypad.

Can I use this card reader with my existing system?
Only if your existing system is a PC based access control system using Wiegand 26 bit format. It is not a standalone unit that can be used for any other application

How can I tell if I have a Wiegand, Mifare or any other system format?
Wiegand format is based on using the 125Khz frequency which tend to use EM/HID cards/key fobs. Mifare format is based on using a 13.56Mhz frequency. The manual or supplier of your system will confirm this, We also have a few tricks and tips you can try if you contact us.

Can I use my own swipe cards with this card reader?
If they are Wiegand 125Khz format, then yes you can in conjunction with our PC access control systems

It is advisable to periodically clean the keypad facia to prevent ingress of dirt or general grime which will accumulate between the buttons and could cause the keypad buttons to become “Sticky”. This is common with all mechanical moving parts and more so dependent upon the installation area and general usage, however, regular preventive maintenance will ensure long lasting operation of the item
